Ms. Bergen has completed a Mediation certification program at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, as well as the California Lawyers for the Arts Mediation program. She regularly mediates community disputes as a volunteer for the California Lawyers for the Arts Sacramento Mediation Program and has participated in private mediations. She has over 20 years of experience as a litigator, participating in Alternative Dispute Resolution processes, which includes both arbitration and mediation. She is a strong advocate of using formal or informal mediation strategies to resolve disputes before they evolve into expensive litigation, especially now, when the state courts are so financially burdened. 

Ms. Bergen provides services to Sacramento attorneys and their clients as either a mediator or arbitrator, at a reasonable daily or half-day rate, to economically resolve disputes involving real estate, employment, construction, business, intellectual property, and contract issues.  She is adept at using mediation as a tool to reach a satisfactory conclusion of parties’ disputes, and is an experienced arbitrator, both as counsel for parties to arbitration and as a private arbitrator.
